"Altyn's" Story

Many Muslim women suffer the pain of neglectful or abusive marriages alone, unable to share with anyone around them. But God sees and hears every single one – and He pursues them. As we pray, remember that these Muslim women are real people whom God loves. “Altyn” was one.

“Altyn” was born into a Muslim family, and for many years she did not consider anything other than Islam. Even when Christian missionaries came to her country and shared the Gospel with her, she dismissed it – and even almost forgot about it.

But then she married and became pregnant. “Altyn’s” husband began to violently beat her. She was terrified it would hurt her baby. As she labored to give birth, she remembered what those missionaries told her – and the hope they offered.

How would “Altyn” respond to that past message? What would happen to her baby? Would the abuse and beatings stop?
