Scotland is one of the four nations in the United Kingdom and participates in the UK government and Parliament. It has also run its own Government and Parliament since 1999. Some public opinion pushes for independence from the United Kingdom, while around half of the nation is content to stay. The nation is heavily developed and has a strong, diverse economy.

Scotland has been overtaken by secular culture. Alcoholism is widespread due to the cultural ideals that ale and beer consumption are inherently Scottish. The nation has experienced a severe drug crisis, especially with heroin and cocaine. Although drug overdoses have decreased, Scotland continues to record one of the highest rates of drug-related deaths in Europe. Pornography addictions are also widespread, and porn is often viewed as a good and helpful thing. Over half of babies are born to unmarried parents, and many children are raised by a single parent. Scotland also has significant levels of domestic abuse and sexual violence. Around a quarter of the nation reports issues with mental health.

Scotland has a long history of Christianity and has raised up many renowned theologians and missionaries. However, the nation has been drifting from its scripturally-grounded roots and radical faith. Church membership is nearly half of what it was fifty years ago, and it is especially declining among young adults. At least 50 percent of Scots report having no religion. There is a severe shortage of Church leaders that meet the spiritual needs of the people. There is still a hunger for the Word of God in this nation, and God will not fail to fill them fully with the wisdom and peace that they so desperately crave.
